October’s Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) podcast, sponsored by Central Piling, will feature none other than the highly successful comedian, presenter, author and prominent mental health speaker, Ruby Wax.

FPS Chair, Steve Hadley, will be discussing with Ruby the causes of anxiety and why the construction industry has such high suicide rates. The episode will explore coping mechanisms, such as mindfulness and discuss support that various organisations can provide.

The podcast will contain anecdotes of Ruby’s own mental health journey, told in her unique and humorous style.

With the podcast topic of Mental Health, Steve will also be joined by Paris Forrester, General Manager, Mates in Mind (MiM) the leading UK charity that is changing the conversation around mental health in the workplace. Paris will talk about the work that MiM does, as well as how it provides employers the skills, clarity and confidence to raise awareness of mental health issues, whilst also improving understanding and addressing the stigma surrounding its occurrence in the workplace.

The podcast will be published on the FPS website towards the end of October 2020 and is definitely worth a listen!
