The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) has recently reviewed its Concrete Pumping Guidance document, which is available on the FPS website.
The review, undertaken by a working group of five FPS members and a technical specialist from Camfaud pumps, looked to simplify the document to better reflect how the piling industry has evolved in recent years and in particular how safe working practice with pressurised concrete lines has also changed.
The review has delivered an updated document, with succinct text that highlights best practice and the revised expected working practices to be demonstrated by FPS Members.
To support the document, the working group have also drafted some best practice ‘Quick reference guides’, which include a series of basic process maps, to managing obstructions and blockages.
It is intended these guides be used for each step in the process and can be used by either FPS members for briefing out the task, or clients wishing to better understand the process being followed on their project.
