An amazing £3140 was raised for Sarcoma UK, the bone and soft tissue cancer charity, by members of the Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) at its “A Night at the Circus’ themed Summer Ball, held 11 June 2022, at Coombe Abbey Hotel in Warwickshire.

Sarcoma UK is a small charity that provides specialist support, information, and awareness for a rare type of cancer called sarcoma. The money raised from raffle tickets – £3140 – was a record for an FPS event and is equal to a year’s supply of chemicals needed to grow and test new drugs on sarcomas in their latest project, hoping to trick the immune system into fighting children’s bone cancer.

The charity’s fund fundraising director said, “We are honoured the FPS chose Sarcoma UK as their chosen charity for the Annual Ball. As we don’t get funding from larger charities or the government, all our charitable activities can happen because of events like these. We don’t get these opportunities very often, so we are delighted your members had such a good time for a good cause.”
