The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) has commissioned a general safety video, and is pleased to announce is available to watch here: ‘FPS General Safety Video’

Narrated by Matt Smith, Chair of the Safety, Plant and Operations Committee, the video is titled “Safely First on Site” and is designed to highlight some of the general areas of risk encountered on site.

Consistent site safety standards are critical with such a transient work force. Our work force works nationally but also main people work for several different companies in the same year. Our teams work in harsh environments, all weathers, and we want to get across reality.

Depicting an idealised environment is not realistic but we can all make things better. We want our workforce to feel supported by the FPS and clear around what they can expect from our member companies, and clear around their responsibilities.

This video will be added too over the coming years, exploring the various topics highlighted.

The video is informative, and raises awareness of how injuries can happen, and suggests what we can all do on piling projects to minimise risk.
