The FPS is pleased to announce the formation of a dedicated “Digital Progression” Working Group, aimed at enhancing data quality, flow, and connectivity across the Specialist Geotechnical Industry. The Digital Progression Working Group comprises industry experts, who are dedicated to driving the digital evolution within geotechnical projects. The members of the working group include:

The primary objective of the Digital Progression Working Group is to review and update the Building Information Modelling (BIM) documents listed on the FPS website. By aligning these documents with the latest digital requirements from internal teams and clients, the FPS aims to support seamless digital delivery at every stage of geotechnical projects, thereby unlocking numerous benefits for stakeholders.
In its inaugural action, the group is working on the review and update of the BIM documents, ensuring they reflect current industry standards and digital best practices. This strategic move is expected to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and accuracy of information within the geotechnical sector, fostering a more dynamic and responsive project environment.
In addition, the Digital Progression Working Group has developed a comprehensive case studies document. This document showcases real-world examples of how digital tools and workflows can significantly improve project efficiency, consistency, and accuracy. These case studies will serve as valuable resources, offering insights into the practical application of digital technologies within live project environments.
The BIM documents and the insightful case studies are currently in the final stages of review and the FPS anticipates their release shortly, signifying a significant step forward in the industry’s digital evolution.
